Songwriting for Everyone with Moorea Malatt
Saturday, March 12th 1pm-4pm
Write, co-write, sing, listen and be challenged. This class is for both those who want to write a first song and for seasoned writers who wish to oil their engines. Playing of instruments is encouraged but not at all required. Immersion in music and creative expression is excellent way to spend this cold, rainy, dark season.
First we will get acquainted and discuss various songwriting goals, techniques and the many ways in which a song can be successful. You will bring lyrics, CD or MP3 of a song you love and wish you had written! There will be in-class small group challenges and take home assignments to be shared the next week. Bring an incomplete song or start fresh! Come and be with us in all of your imperfection-we’ll all rock our own quirkiness in a safe space.
Class is limited to 6 slots. To reserve a spot- email firstname.lastname@example.org
Your facilitator, Moorea Malatt:
I am a writer, Life Coach and musician with five albums of original songs. I’ve toured the country as a singer/songwriter and performed for cabaret crowds as The Naked Folksinger here in Seattle. I’m now focused on children’s music. I’m happiest times are spent coaching creative people, writing songs that make people laugh.
